Can beam cannon multi-parts cycle trough fire points?

If I have a multi-part turret with 4 fire points, but a beam cannon on it and I set it to cycle, will the beam change fire point every time it fires?
Important, because I'm making a low-damage high RoF beam cannon.

Also, why not make a "Simple Questions That Do Not Deserve Their Own Thread" thread and sticky it?

I'm sorry that I can't help with that but I'm interested in a solution as you prior to the implementation of multiple beams per turret (about a year ago or so) you could easily create turrets switching from Normal-AAA to Super-AAA when ships were TAGed.

Sounds like a good idea, that has been brought up at a different point for FRED tricks, but nothing came out of it. :(

I recall beam cannons working differently on multi-parts, hence why I'm asking.

Right, I don't think I've ever seen it before though. We don't have any multi-firing point beams in retail do we?
