okay, prune 90% of the thread then

stop pretending there are any real standards in here. its a thread for posting screenies of stuff in FSO that posters find "awesome" so to say.

the fact that many mods actually use it as a sort of a WIP area, to gauge people's reactions is another matter entirely. its generally not okay if i'm to be asked, since there's the FS Modding board where the same folks can do the same and hosted mods have their subforums for the oohs and aaahs.



But, in the overall, as long as everyone else keeps doing it, i'll keep on jumping the bandwagon every now and then myself.

You know, there is more to FreeSpace modding than explosions. Like, for instance, the very nice new fully animated head anis I was trying to direct the viewer's attention to. Maybe I should have cropped everything else out?

This is totally obvious from a still image where they take up less than ten percent of the area.

I think the answer is that "Freespace Atmospherics" need their own hosted project tab. Then maybe they wouldn't disappear.

A progress forum isn't going to keep the mods from disappearing when the devs' harddrives crash.
Unless assets are uploaded.

I'm no longer working with ShadowGorrath and I don't want my mod lumped into a single category with his. Wings is Wings. It's not Defcon FreeSpace, and it's not whatever Dragon is doing.

Reposting some things I posted elsewhere recently. Sorry to those that have seen some of these, but they made me say 'wow' at the time... No FXAA or Soft Particles in any of these either

Didn't we already have this discussion once before? 

I think you were looking for the highres originals at one stage but I had deleted them unfortunately (unless it was someone else who was going to add them to the wiki and I've just got myself confused). I've been making sure to keep the highres TGA's of my most recent screenshots though in the event I ever need them (I would always downsize images to work around the lack of AA, but FXAA's fixed that I suppose!). I've got newer stuff too, so I may post that later if I can.
