.being previously a fan of TIE Fighter and Wing Commander (every version out for the PC).

Tie-Fighter was a great game, and i collected quickly the intro an a ingame Video at You-Tube. But ... Wing Commander on pc looked really crap, an I think I am able to stand agony because I play (yes sometimes this days to :D) it on Amiga 600. I remember with aditional Ram the Joy-Stick of the fighter was moved in the way you stear the fighter.

@ FS 2 I think ther will be a lot of stuff, made by the Fred-Gods, left for me - should me keep busy for a year or so.  :D If you can stand some n00b questions from me.  :)

@havaduck; the link to the FS Open Installer is in my siggy.  It comes with quite a few MODs.  The only one I wish it had (besides the total conversion MODs like The Babylon Project and Wing Commander Saga) is Inferno.

You got one with the ST bundle?

Thats almost a collectors edition...

Well I got my bundle off of Ebay, for a steal. ;)

I introduced one of my friends to Descent3 via the two demos.  (They are still downloadable.)  He said at the time that I would really like FreeSpace, and the soon to come FreeSpace2, he got the demos, and was going to buy it after he saved enough money (he had just bough D3 & D3 Mercenary, so he didn't have too much hehe).
Well, I only had Descent: Destination Saturn... my comp wouldn't even run the D3 demos, which I wasn't too happy about, because I had spent a lot of time on dial-up downloading.  (Good 'ol 100 MHz AMD DX4, 64MB FPM DRAM, & S3 Diamond 4MB VESA graphics card.)

I had only gotten my friend into it because I could tell from the installer and readmes (and all the weapons .avi clips that I had downloaded  ) that this was a good game.  So, once I got a comp that could handle it, (2003?) I got D3 & Merc on Ebay, and, remembering what my friend had said, searched for FreeSpace.  Bought FS1+ST, was going to get FS2, but the cheapest I could find was greedy finks charging like $80 - $1~~ for it.  :mad2:  So, I bittorrented it.  Whilst it was torrenting, I searched around trying to get more info & patches, then I got the bright idea of searching for MODs.

About the same time as I stumbled upon this site, all of the HLP admins became uneasy, sensing a disturbance in the Force.  :drevil:  Lurked for awhile downloading stuff, until I thought I saw a chance to help people who the finks were trying to rob blind, like they tried to do to me.  At this time, the HLP admins sensed a tremendous disturbance in the Force.
