I tried doing www.freespace2.com in FSPort and it gives me an error that the model bomardier.pof (hornet, iirc) is missing and I am unable to continue.

This might be a global issue, I haven't looked into how it behaves in other mods, or what about FSPort causes this. In that case this topic probably belongs in the SCP board.

Just a guess, but I think it could be caused either by an error in the fsport tables, or by something hard-coded in the engine.

Once upon a time, someone got a "amissile.pof not found" error when he tried to cheat. As it was noticed that he had Blue Planet patches in \mediavps\, he was instructed to move those to the correct folder. It was also noted that he was playing in Direct3D, and again proper advice was given.

One of those "configurations" fixed his problem.

Well i'm not running in Direct3D, and there doesn't seem to be anything abnormal in the fsport or mediavps folders.

Also, the main directory seems fine, and all 3 of the data directories look fine.

Maybe I overlooked something?

hm... Bombardier.pof is the model for the Tornado missile, yet it is found in the original VPs. When you cheat, it loads all the weapons for you to use. So there's two forces at work here: it's trying to load the Tornado (which it shouldn't) and it's not finding the model (which it should.)

You ARE using the launcher's mod selection ability, right?
