Please help; Invisible ships and numerous errors
Hey guys, can I get any help?

I found and followed the "Idiot's guide" to install the SCP 3.6.12 earlier today, and all ran smooth, as far as I could tell. But when I ran the software to actually play the game, I got a screen which said that it had found 65 errors or somesuch. I proceeded to try to play the game none-the-less, but half of the models were invisible. Some ships were all good, and others just didn't show up. I could Target them, see their lights and stuff, but yeah.. they were invisible.

Any ideas of what I can do to fix this? I'm pretty noob at this sort of stuff.

Please read the FSO FAQ stickied here. Use the info there to either fix your problem, or if no applicable solution can be found, use the info in the last paragraph to generate an fs2_open.log and post it here.

I ran the debug, as on the FAQ, and I got a whole bunch of errors, here's a few.

They're all pretty much the same error, I think. Just applied to different sections of the game.

Please post the entire log. The part that helps us determine what is wrong and how to fix it is not the error message per se, it's the whole part that comes before it.

This is thoroughly wrong. Please redownload this file manually from here: http://mvp.fsmods.net/3612/MV_Assets_3612.zip and replace the one found in your mediavps_3612 folder.

Just tried to use the 3.6.10 files, but they were apparently corrupted.

So yeah, getting the 3.6.12 ones now. Fingers crossed
