"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

IIRC Woomeister took the Arcadia extensions idea and ran with it, producing a whole bunch of them.

So far we have 3 of them, I don't know if there are more...

One of them comes from OTT, if I remember well.

There are a lot more than 3.

There's the OTT version, the normal Arcadia one, the comm one, the box one, the engine extension one (steering wheel), the defensive addition, a shipyard addition, and even a Knossos portal one. (all except for the OTT version and the defensive version are in Inferno SCP)

They're optional additions, only a few of them are in the main mod.

As long as they are high-poly with decent textures :doubt:

I created a "Jotunheim" complex once. It was crazy. 3 levels of Arcadiae stacked on top of one another. :D

As long as they are high-poly with decent textures :doubt:
You can't do that because if you have too many high-poly and decently textured ships your framerate goes from 60 to 6.

The textures are decent because they come straight from the Media VPs and are continuously upgraded. That kind of model doesn't really need to be high-poly.

Well, I've seen plenty of cases where a ship has decent textures but they are applied so poorly that it doesn't make a difference.

How can you claim it's badly textured?

I'm not talking about any specific examples, just ships in general.

Name a few specific ships, then.

(Mods: I recommend splitting and moving to Inferno forum)

I can't think of any off the top of my head.  But there are a few out there (not talking about any specific mods).  Usually this has to do with the texture being too stretched or something like that.

Well, the Segomo has very stretched tiles, uses too many textures, and has overtiled sections to boot :P
I found that out the hard way. The model shape itself isn't bad...its just the texturing is atrocious. (If I try to change it to anything else, that is, it looks...passable by itself, considering its age)

  • Evolution and ascension.
All EA ships use the same engine texture, and some of the standard EA textures get tiled out of proportion.

So is there a download for any released ones (you said the defensive one was released?)
Sig nuked! New one coming soon!
