Title: Problem with Space Background
Post by: lenard27 on June 23, 2010, 09:09:48 pm
Hey all,
I've searched the forum, but couldn't find this problem showing up for anyone else. I just re-downloaded the entire SCP through Turey's installer a few days ago after my hard drive bit the dust. I started up Blue Planet, but the background is pure white. In the opening cutscene, everything showed up properly, the problem starts when I'm actually in-mission. Any ideas?
Every other campaign works fine, so I know that it is a Blue Planet specific issue. Thanks for any help.

Are you using the advanced visual VPs? The skybox texture may be too high-res for your graphics card; it's significantly more detailed than those used by most campaigns.

Try removing the advanced visual VPs (adv-visual and adv-core or somesuch) and see if it goes away.

All right, I'll try that now...Thanks for the help, and I'll let you know if it works. That's probably the case since I have an older Radeon graphics card.

EDIT: Worked like a charm. Thanks a lot.

Awesome, enjoy!

We should pack a readme with this thing. I think the troubleshooting FAQ is buried too deep in the release post.

I'd still opt for having a completely separate, stickied FAQ instead of having it smashed somewhere in the release thread. But this is just grumpy old me talking.
