I think the country where XBOX360 doesn't sell most in the worlds is Japan.
and Space Sim is not popular in Japan.
(robots(eg. gundam) are more popular than Space Fighters in japan
and Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Galactica are minor in Japan. of course FreeSpace too! oh my god!

I had Sylpheed:the Lost planet for PS2. Was a top scroller. Excellent models, but the game itself looked mrah.
, that sylpheed ship looks similar to the one I had. I only wish it was a 3d sim, and not a top shooter that turned 3d for cinematics.

Project Sylpheed is Space Sim, not top scroller.
it's like Battlestar Galactiaca(XBOX), Space Interceptor(PC).
However, the missile is chiefly used for dogfight. this missile have many ammo(hundreds), swarm and multiple lock-on, like macross(robotech).
The enemy fighters is very weak and appears in large quantities, so it's a good target using missile.
non lock-on weapons is chiefly used for anti-large ship.
and, there are many weapons, and the player can setup it by briefing.
The player can use some special moves.
it's multiple shots(all weapons fire), kamikaze-attack, slo-mo.
A lot of in-game event is processed as Movie, it's a bad part.
