An easy tutorial for PCS or Blender?

(1/2) > >>

crizza:
I don't know if this is the right place, but I'll ask anyway:
Is there a neat tutorial which explains step by step how to rework models with PCS?
In my minds eye I had plans for a reworked Hecate for ages and people kept telling me to use PCS to do this.
How do I for example use parts of the Titan, for example beam dishes or turrets and attach them to the Hecate?
Is this a kitbash or do I also need to learn Blender to scale them?

I tried Blender tutorials before, but the learning curve is... huge.

If this is the wrong place, just do your adminmod magic.
Cheers!

Nightmare:
Can easily be done with PCS2 w/o Blender.

Open the Hecate model.
Go to SubObjects (left).
Then click the "load" button on the upper right.
Select the Titan model.
PCS will then show you a list of all Objects (LODs, Debris, Turrets etc) - click on the one you want to have.
Done.

You may want to rotate the turret in case it is not exactly matching the hull. For that, stay on SubObjects, select only the turret, go to the other button Transform, which allows rotating around axes, resize and different centerpoints.
Zooming - in and out - to check whether everythings' OK can be done with scroll wheel on the mouse.

This highlighted in the modding board?  Because it should be  :D

Nightmare:
There's in fact an entire modding tutorial child board, just that searching for "kitbash" yields no results there.
