cool
-
....so THAT'S what you've been up to. Congrats!
-
Awesome Battua, many congratulations.
-
Grats man! You deserve it. Your writing is impeccable and has captured me like only Stephen King or Colin Thompson could/did.
-
Congrats Battuta! I look forward to see it publicized and to read it.
Good writers like you are always important to have around, especially in the spotlights.
Now go make your stratospheric success into astronomic profits. ;)
-
Good job...ttuta? Looking forward to reading it!
-
Now if only your posting quality reflected it too. :p
-
NICE.
GOOD JOB. I mean, err, bravo-zulu. :D All the best for you, Darius and I shall cultivate your Perth fanbase. :P
-
Grats to the Batts! :)
-
Definately tuning in for this, :D
Congratulations Mr. Tutta Sir!
-
So uh, what's it about? >_>
-
It's about Baru Cormorant. He's a traitor.
-
Oh come now, we wouldn't want to spoil all the fun, now would we?
Though a brief hint as to the genre and general setting wouldn't go amiss.
And a hearty congratulations, I hope this auspicious achievement is representative of things to come.
-
God I'm so **** at elevator summary back cover copy bull****, but:
The ruling Throne asked Baru Cormorant to raise a rebellion, to rally the seditious and the discontented around her banner -- and then, when the moment was right, betray them all. With her task complete and her reward at hand, Baru must pass one final test to prove her loyalty.

Haha there's a running joke that Alpha graduates always sell first stories with bird motifs. Rachel Sobel's lovely baroque piece The Loyalty of Birds (http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/sobel_03_09/) was probably the trendsetter here, and I've got another story out right now titled Worth of Crows that's pretty audobon
-
Awesome stuff! Look forward to reading it :)
-
Judging by the story you wrote for the Asimov award, it should be a nice read.
-
Congratulations!
Please inform us when the story is published, I'll take a look at that one.
I hope it will be available here as well through some channels, otherwise I need to order it directly from you
-
Nice.
Out of passing curiosity...how many pages does this masterpiece has?
-
Uh it's about 5500 words which comes to, I guess, 25 or so pages manuscript format?
It's slightly above mid-sized for a short story.
-
Congratulations, brotutta.
Do you have any pictures of the book cover?
-
It's a short story you silly horse, but even if it were a novel it wouldn't have a finalized design at this stage anyway.
It'll be in Beneath Ceaseless Skies (http://www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.com/)
-
You should become a full time author!
(So that I may own your collection)
I've literally searched Amazon for you.
-
Here we are in 2022, and I recommended someone who was asking for ideas on what to audiobook to get The Traitor Baru Cormorant.
-
Oooh, who's reading it? Or is it voice acted?
-
I've never listened to the audiobook but it says Christine Marshall on Amazon. But this person was looking for a sci fi or fantasy series, and I thought Baru Cormorant was a great choice.
-
It's a fantasy economic political ballad.
-
The entire series is great.
-
I'm yet to finish the second book. Due to constant ongoing distraction.
-
Oh yeah, I've read it; just never listened to the audio book. Always happy to recommend this story in any form. :)
