Somebody else had this crazy problem. Try opening it up in FRED (EAC2-A8, I believe) and changing the wing name of one of Gamma, Delta or Epsilon to something like 'Sigma'. That may work.

There is a bug in FS2 that causes crashes is more than a certain number of ships are present in wings Alpha to Epsilon (i.e the ones that are shown on the HUD).

Blaise: Yep, that mission where you need to follow the pirate cruiser is a little too tricky to figure out by myself (thank the Lloyd you dumped the solution somewhere, or I'd be a pissed-off viking right about now).
I got that bug Karajorma mentioned above too (actually, I thought it was because there were too many ships in the mission at the same time, so I snuffed a bunch of wings, and everything was ok ).

All that aside, it was a good series of campaigns. Except for that "impossible" mission.
