Anyone have any ideas for me on how to start a campaign where the Colossus and its battle group chase the NTF out of Sirius, Regulus and Polaris. I could use some thoughts or ideas because this is my first campaign and i dont come up with ideas very well.:) :)

Just remember that even the Colossus is part of a battlegroup, so you will have other ships to escort, plus it requires a pretty big amount of supplies, meaning you'll have to cover her back for it...
Finally, the NTF seems to like trying to ram her, so have fun with it :-)

My advice is to start small. Make a five mission campaign based around kicking them out of Sirius. Once you've done that and got some feedback you can make a second part covering the other two systems.

There's plenty of potential here. Entering each system will involve the Colossus having to smash down the Jump node blockades followed by missions to liberate the various planets and bases. As Zarax said the Colossus wasn't alone so you may want to assign the player to  one of the fleet of ships that were with it. That will make it easier to have missions where you have to defend your base.

Also, you may concote a mission where the Colossus chase the Iceni but its power systems fail... (as usual)

The Colossus was designed to be the bully of known space. It was built for the express purpose of picking on enemy ships smaller than it (i.e everything else! ;) ) I'd prefer to see a campaign where we see the colossus do what it was built to do. I want to see it giving swirlys, wegies and purple nurples to any NTF ship stupid enough to cross its path. I want to see it spank the NTF and take their dinner money.

The only problem is doing that in a way that doesn't leave the player a pointless spectator :D

Well, you can have the player preventing hitpoints to fall below a certain level, or to protect a particular subsystem...
I'm making a mission where a second Colossus jumps between two "fleets" and forces them alone to retreat...

Players' role is to launch small strikes to either draw in the enemy, of hinder their escape - then the big C comes in.  Just like, er "Feint,Parry Riposte" (I think?).

For a bit of diversity, add the usual escort of supply missions, missions to protect the flanks of the battlegroup, and even the odd mission where you have to prevent the Colossus hull going under xx% (because nowt the NTf had to actually take it out.....)

EDIt: oops.... that last one's been said above......

Well I have an idea now about how to start the first mission. I goes like this: The NTF try to make an Orion destroyer as powerful as a Hecate so at a station in Sirius called Lexington Bosch orders a new destroyer, The NTD Ridley,  built. But the GTVA finds out about this and the player has to defend a convoy of marines who are assigned to steal the ship. Plus you have to escort the ship to the jumpnode while the ship is under attack by NTF bombers and other ships.

Actually scratch that first idea. Here's a better one. The Ridley will still be there just not as powerful. You are to escort a number of the Colossus's supply ships and escort ships to the Sirius jump node while fendding off an attack by the Ridley and its fighter and bomber wings. The Ridley also has two Corvetts you have to worry about. This campaign of course is just a mini one of about five to maybe seven missions.

don't tell us everything you'll ruin the surprise!
I always liked the idea of doing an Escort mission where a friendly corvette switched to the NTF. But i could never be arsed doing it.

actually, I always thought the Orion was already a match for a Hecate:rolleyes:

The Ridley uses LRBGreen beams for its main guns.
