Any one use it and want to join 'The Freespace Team'? If you do, visit the SETI@home website tomorrow (they haven't updated yet)

SETI@Home is a farce...

anyone ever noticed that the entire thing can continue to run in offline mode...  you dont even need to connect to upload your 'analysed' data  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Apparently it d/l the data and you analyse it in the background, then upload it.  If you don't then that packet gets sent to someone else.

No where at the moment. The site is down for some reason. Should be at this address when it's back online.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ ("http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/")

Go to groups, then the Clubs section, letter 'T' for The Freespace Team.

The site is down now because the entire building that seti is run in, is down.  They're doing some construction up there and the contractor accidently cut the fiber cable.  In theory, it should be up again tomorrow.

I've had a data unit waiting to be uploaded since Wednesday. Still, according to the site, it should be finished by tonight...

But you know what happened last time they said it would be repaired soon, don't you?

Good news! Seti is back up.  I just sent off and recieved another work unit.  The site mentions that it might take 24 to 48 hours before you can make a connection.  They have to cap their bandwidth and since a lot more people are trying to send off completed units, they have to refuse some connections.
