Re: A celebration of Freespace
It IS a platform with beam cannons instead of a destroyer.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Well, to me, it just looks like a platform with beam cannons, instead of a destroyer. Doesn't strike the idea that it might be a destroyer. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was an instalation meant for defending nodes.
That's the whole point, it's a mobile weapons platform.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Wasn't it an attack-only-and-run destroyer with fast-recharging jump drives and powerfull beam cannons ? Or did I play too much S:AH ?

Still dislike it

Re: A celebration of Freespace
You played too much S:AH, which isn't INF canon.

Yeah, you've been playing too much of that non-INF canon stuff. It was a mobile weapons platform, two of them are used to defend the Sol Gate from the GTVA in one of the INF SCP missions (called the Kiev and Rabin IIRC).

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Well, that explains a great deal then.  ;)

But still, I dislike the Lindos. And I doubt I'll change my opinion, unless I see it in action. In INF SCP that is.

P.S. To be honest, I think SAH is better than INF R1. :p

Re: A celebration of Freespace
But INFA1 > S:AH :P
Most people would disagree on that. But INFASA will be a lot better than S:AH Chapter 1 and 2, at least. INFA2 will p4wn 3 and 4, too. But I still respect BR's campaign. :)

P.S. To be honest, I think SAH is better than INF R1. :p
Kind of meh to that. I mean, the first campaign was win, but the later ones were kind of meh. It seemed like only the EA was progressing, no one else was going anywhere (sort of like Gaganas fighting Fenris cruisers). INFA2 will have the Jovian Coalition being a lot more three V one L.

But still, I dislike the Lindos. And I doubt I'll change my opinion, unless I see it in action. In INF SCP that is.
Well I'm sure it'll be interesting to see 2 skyscrapers jump in, then blow up a destroyer with a barrage of railguns and beams. ;)

Re: A celebration of Freespace
1) If people prefer advanced craft over FS1 era ones S:AH's campaigns 3 and 4 might be considered better than INFA1, ok, but there are parameters other than "OMG! Look at the shipz!" to consider.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
They were progressing. But it was like this- they build lots of ships ( destroyers even ) and make their economy work out independant. Otherwise they'd be falling appart internally.

Things will change completely in INFA2 but I can't tell you more about this.

So practically all the other factions stuck with lightly modified FS1 stuff while the EA made new crap?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Yes. pre-EA GTA had it's favourite people from Sol brought to Earth for evacuation after all. At least that's what impression I got from the first few SAH campaign 1 missions.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
That might have happened in S:AH...

Don't forget that planets like Mars and satellites like Titan and Europa deserve special attention. We don't know if in the future Earth's population will stop growing or not, but the lack of natural resources should surely encourage emigration.

Inner system planets are the most resource rich. Especially Mars.

A little less conversation, a little more action please.
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me.
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark.
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.

You don't know if Sol was the most populated Terran system in 2335 and you don't know if Earth was the most populated planet of Sol during that period.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I meant that INNER Sol planets had the most resources. And the most important people were taken to Earth to await evacuation.

Now I'd upload a pic from my SAH upgrade, but I only have older ones, and most of people who were watching my upgrade's progress saw them already.
