Title: Examples of custom name plates using the Freddoc tutorial
Post by: AdamaAd on November 09, 2012, 03:04:48 am
I have made some Examples of custom name plates using the Freddoc name plate tutorial attached to this topic, some of them with blank name sections so any other players or members of my Wing can use them as a template.

They are all supposed to have an Australian theme, using the Green&Gold etc.

Can supply the .DDS files if anybody wants them. Interested if anybody likes them also.

Well if I wanted to be a dick I could claim that the CC licence we released under obligates you to release the .dds files. :p

I doubt anyone (including myself) would actually agree though so I'll just ask nicely. :D

Happy to supply anything requested, everything I have done I used the original col_viper_Mk7.dds as a template extracted from the R1_Textures.vp file. I have just overlayed color layers to create them.

Okay, gonna be blunt here. Reskinning a Viper is much more work than just applying a colour filter over the entire texture and slapping a few ... inappropriate decals on top.

For starters, why would everything, including the engines and cockpit interior be tinted in this sickly green colour? Don't get me wrong, I totally get the desire for personalized Viper textures, but this is some way off from being good.
