Hello to all FS2H fans (wherever they may be...)

It so happens that we may have found good old devrous again: he currently has an account on steam... however, having no experience whatever in internet gaming, I personnally don't have an account so I can't contact him.

As such, might someone here have a steam account? in that case would he agree to forward a message to devrous I will make? This might be our chance to secure the FS2H files at last.

Well, possibly the fact of downloading a program I'm not familiar with and I'm not sure to be able to delete afterwards...

Besides, should somebody be nice enough to take that request, a lot of precious time could be saved...

I have a Steam account and would be willing to give this a try, but I'm not entirely sure if there's a way of getting in touch with him directly via the service.

I have a Steam account, but I am unwilling to try. He chose to vanish without a trace, didn't he? Only to apparently remain active elsewhere on the internet? I don't understand this behavior; why not post "hey, I'm burnt out goin' awol here are the files been fun."

Try spamming him with friend requests; maybe you can lock up his computer.

Mongoose, many thanks for the offer: Should you wish to accept: I'll type in a message which I will then forward you. Once done, you can relay it to him through steam. Is that ok?

Is there any guarantee that's him?
I mean i can't see the e-mal address used to create the account anywhere.
I have a steam account but i never ever check it, i just use it because a load of games like AVP 2 etc require that i have one.



It says he's not been online for the past fortnight as well

The thing is, starlord, I don't think Steam has any sort of built-in private message system, or at least I didn't see one when I visited his profile page.  I could send him a friend request, but since he doesn't know who I am, there's no guarantee he'd accept it.  And like Dekker said, he hasn't even been on the service for more than two weeks.

At this point there's nothing to lose and potential for gain.
Worst case they guy says "who the heck are u?" and that's that.

I'm the one that provided star with the info after some extensive searching.
There's a fairly high probability it is the right person.

Weird...I tried adding him to my friends list, which doesn't seem to require any confirmation on his part, but now he's not showing up in my list.

Maybe he just isn't online yet... or it requires confirmation before it shows up.
One of the IM types does that when sending a buddy request.
