hey guys.  now I know from your recommendations that I was going to struggle to get this thing to a playable frame rate but as it stands I cant even get to the pilot select screen or main hall.

I get the loading screen ok then it goes into the the intro sequence but all I get is a black screen with stuttering sound like it's buffering, playing for a couple of seconds, then buffering again. if I esc past it the screen dosnt return and i get some main hall noises.  if I alt-tab out of the game and pack in I can see the pilot screen but it's unusable and it disappears after a few seconds, sofar the only way to kill the game is either do it from windows or alt-tab to the launcher and kill it that way.

selecting the Debug build in the launcher I get the following Log

Card is getting on a bit, do you have latest drivers first of all?

yes according to the updater.  I did wonder about the age though I figured should still be able to get away with it as WCS generally runs albeit slowly in certain missions so figured I should at least be able to get in mission.

WCS runs on a completely different engine than Diaspora. Comparison is irrelevant.

Could you try to run retail with the diaspora build ? Just to make sure whether it's an engine or modpack issue.

strait in with no issues on either Retail or MVP

started getting the same issue in FSO but not when using the 5.5 launcher so I uninstalled the FSO wxLauncher and reinstalled it from a fresh download of 0.9.1 ingto a new directory and both FSO and Diaspora launch ok
