The title says it all: After I have installed FS2 (GER) and uninstalling (cannot get rid of it in "uninstall a program" in win7 due to x64 issue, cannot find it in the registry either) there are [GR] markings before nearly every menu point (except main menu), there is a "smeary" effect with moving objects ingame, and parts of the text ingame is in german. the FS2 dir was a totally different one than than those of diaspora or FSO. there are no more any markings of single-/syncronized fire etc.

I hope someone can help me get diaspora running properly again.

My guess would be that installing FS2 retail ****ed up your registry. I don't remember where the registry entries are though, but I think reinstalling Diaspora should override the registry.

Tried that intuitively in the first place... to no avail I fear

Reinstalled FS2 in a different directory only to uninstall it again hoping thus the regentry would be wiped -> unsuccessful

used CCleaner to clear registry after uninstalling each FSO (mod) or FS2 copy -> unsuccessful

*Of course each step followed a new installation of diaspora

I feel thanks are in order for making efforts to help me in lightning speed


Just for the record: the smeary effect that affected both backround texture and objects was related to emperimenting with graphics settings namely enabling post processing. I have a HD 6950 ATI  GPU

run as administrator seems to override user related settings

We really do need someone to help us translate the game to German so as to avoid the issue. In the meanwhile, I suppose including a "German" copy of the strings and tstrings table which just has everything in English would probably prevent this happening again.
