shivans have human death cries?

Heya, i'm encountering a bit of a odd problem recently. When a shivan fighter is shot down i'm getting a human death scream. I've tried reinstalling the game but that didn't seemed to solve it. (Don't really feel like completely uninstalling and downloading all over again). The game has run fine all this time so i'm confused on what causes this.
I tried searching the forum several times for an answer and couldn't find anything related to this particular problem.

Check your command-line options from the Launcher and make sure that "Toggle features for Wing Commander Saga" is ticked off.

If you set Shivans as friendly, they sound like Terrans. The Sath is an AWACS!
