We all know that plugins, depending on the program and how well they
are made can help a great deal with modeling, animation, or other tasks
that might otherwise be tedious. With that - I'm opening this up with the
hope that everyone will share the names what they've found to be useful
and this will become a resource thread of sorts.

Max, Blender, whatever... doesn't matter.

Discuss ones that you've even found to be duds, that way the rest can avoid them.

I'd post a couple myself now, but right ATM they are downloading. ^_^

Max = Texporter is a MUST, if you do any UV mapping and texturing.
Greeble is good too (http://max.klanky.com/)

I'd like to know about max plugins too  :)

ResErect - I'm probably a poor judge of the plugin for Max thus far,
but I've seen where it can take a mesh/poly model and port it directly to
splines, keeping the verticles intact it seems. Unfortunately it doesn't
actually fix anything in that import, like I was hoping. Would suggest
only for medium to well knowledgable people on splines.
