This looks very good. But I cant seem to fly it. I have placed the files in the place where they are supposed to be.
I made a simple fred mission in which I fly the Mk II. Instead I get to fly the MKVII.
I can't seem to chose the mkII in the briefing.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I also get this, but I don't know if this is related.

It is related. Your tables reference a model the engine can't find, and hence the engine replaces it with the default ship, which in Diaspora is the V7. A debug log would help, but I can already tell it's a table problem here, or simply a misnamed/misplaced pof.

if you can place the Mk II in fred and see the model i couldn't think of anything that could be wrong

Table and pof has "engines" entries but pof also has engine subobjects, subsystem flagged with no corresponding table entry, sorting this might help.
