Title: missing a file?
Post by: silverwolf on April 30, 2010, 11:57:17 pm
every now and then i have a mission that produces an error about missing 2 ship classes. naturally if you load the mission you get the ulysses default. I have both visuals and core so I dont think i'm missing a vp file. The two missions i can think of this happening is the one where you find the sanctuary and then the mission where they stick you in a stealth fighter to look for the scout.

Make sure you're using an Inferno build of FSO, otherwise certain ship classes won't show up ingame.

Maybe we need to make the letters bigger or something.

Can't wait for Inferno builds to be standard. *sigh*

Indeed.

(Pardon the intrusion.)

What was the reason for maintaining two separate builds, anyway? Did the INF build cause performance issues or what?

For a time, INF builds were not capable of Multiplayer. In addition, it was felt that the changes in them would need some more testing before being declared standard. As it worked out, however, no real testing was ever done on them (what with them being kinda sorta optional on TBP, and Inferno not being released).

Until other mods, like Blue Planet, started using them heavily, that is.
