Carl long ago became the generic name for Shivans.

Besides, it's much closer to one year, perhaps less. He lurked in Hard Light with random decloaking and attack for a long time. May still be there, just not talking.

So now there's an evil guy walking around trying to usurp the good guy's role...  But how did he survive the shot?  And is the guy standing over you supposed to be Command, or the guy's friend?  I smell maybe a hint of GTI/GTVI influence with that "classified" bit.

I wouldn't say that the guy is still walking if you ask me. That said, from the point of view you were looking at the guy when he got shot, you don't know exactly where the bullet went through. As for who was looking at him and other stuff, you'll find out in the other comic.

One thing I'm confused on: we are to infer that the criminal ran afoul of Carl? Ouch...  :blah:

Imagine some pieces of the criminal in a brown bag that you give to Carl when you go cleaning the vents.

But one question:  Did the bad guy get caught by us at HLP, beaten to a pulp, then fed to Carl?  Or did he run into Carl and get blasted?
