It's good. We ultimately went with Norbert's take on the role, but yours was in close contention. If it comes down to needing to make a change (if there was lots of negative feedback on the current Labouchere from beta testers, for instance) then we can always swap it out.

From reading this thread I wonder, is there anyone besides me on these forums of Chinese descent? I could give a pointer or two on Chinese pronunciations, but I'd need to know more about the names from Darius. Which characters are used to form "Renjian", for instance? How did you make the names up? There are tons of different Chinese pronunciations for different character/ship backgrounds.

Hey this is awesome, I got 3 roles! I feel important lol. Thanks for casting me and thanks for the props, Battuta and Rian. It was a blast to try out so many roles. I'd happily contribute some more lines, except I also happen to have a cold this week. I'll give them a shot if you haven't finished casting by the time I heal it up.

I'm personally looking forward to hearing swashmebuckle's "Yeah that's for Earth" line, since you must be some sort of god to pull that off without sounding like a tool, and Dekker's Morian, since villains are always the most amusing roles to voice-act and it sounds like this Dekker guy must have done a fantastic job.

Also, shouldn't the voice actors for fighters (Alpha wing, Tell, Iwakura) record all the generic lines? "On your six!" and stuff like that. The alternatives - either having no lines outside of scripted ones, or using the retail voices - aren't appealing. And since they're all unkillable for story preservation, we won't have to worry about recording those death screams.

Well, except Alpha 4, but nobody cares about him.

Not likely to happen for Tell and Iwakura. We'd have to generate custom personas for each one, which isn't worth it given how few missions they're in.
 
Taylor and Corey might be worth it...could get in touch with their voice actors if need.

Making a custom table for each persona. Not that hard. What would be time-consuming would be reaching the VAs and getting the lines.

Oh and thanks to a media-friendly keyboard I was able to preview what my lines would sound like in-mission without mucking with the mission files. I would recommend you (or Darius who, being an audio producer, probably already has the software) make them a little louder.

I've been normalizing everything to 0 dB (so peaks become -1/1 dB). Seems to match up well with the original FS2 voices.

But in all seriousness, I'll record it all and make the table myself if you tell me how or point me to a guide. I'd be glad to improve the immersion of my favorite FS2 mod.

Er, and I'd need a list of said lines. Of course, if you're bogged down I'll just play through retail FS2 again (which I'd also enjoy... I can never get enough ) and jot down all the generic lines I hear.
