Hey I'm new to the multiplayer deal um is there certain dates when the servers are up or are the servers up 24/7

There's a big crowd (more often than regular multi, I think) and in general you can try to get a game going by logging on to IRC. People hang out on #hard-light, #bp, and #multi-setup.

Oh thanks i was just wondering because i went on bp multiplayer and i didnt see anyone it could be my information for my account is wrong but idk ill look into it.

That's because games are usually scheduled, you can't just expect to pop on and find one.
