I'm mobcdmoc3, or mob as people have called me before. I've been lurking around for a while now, but I guess Dan Wentz's presence finally pushed me over the edge into joining.

I've had FreeSpace 1 since I was a kid, and recently came across FreeSpace 2, much to my dismay. I wasn't even aware FS2 existed until I was curious one day, and surely enough there was. I had reached the rank of Commodore on FS1 (Which took freaking forever) and became addicted to FS, which I still am. 

I've been trying to get the hang of FREDing, but that's been coming along a little slowly with time constraints.

I look forward to becoming a part of this community, and hope to be around to continue to see FreeSpace continue to develop.

A very respectful hello to all the people who have made the continuation of the most original space simulator ever conceived, a reality!
It gives me great hope that, although the decimation of the space exploration budget generally is being welcomed, that there are people who still hold the small flame of a dream of continued space exploration, postulating all that may possibly ensue through simulation. Continuing to experiment with a believable universe replete with colour,life, intrigue and of political history. I have nothing but the deepest admiration for all the hard work, from the manipulation of the source code to the artistic tour De force and shear labour of love that is evident within these wonderful mods .
There's the waffle part over! Seriously a big thank you for keeping it all alive!
Any voice acting opportunities would be gratefully received as this geezer hasn't worked in a while ;-)

Once again, a very sincere thank you from a fellow dreamer.

Hey, I really didn't know there was a game like this ever until doing a research for games for Linux I found it. It is amazing what you guys have been doing with this game. I don't know how the original was but this one is unbelievable. I'm so an addict to this game I got to remind myself that I got a life because I can spend hours playing. The story is interesting and every time I play a mission I want to know what is going to happen after and I keep playing until I realize that is 5 am and I need to work at 6 am. Really cool. And don't worry i don't need rehab.

Thank you, to all, for your hard work, energy, dedication, effort and passion. I feel like I want to contribute with something to the FS community I don't know much I kind of got spoiled by Windows with the 'click and done system', but I'm a fast learner and willing to help.

Morning everyone,

Picked the game up like 6 months ago but didnt actually play it until last week when some of my friends started talking about it. Finished FS2, then FS Port, now working my way through Silent Threat: Reborn. I haven't gotten on multiplayer yet, and I still feel like I'm garbage at the game, but plan on continuing to play. Thinking of maybe trying the wing commander mod after this.

Wing commander is not a mod, but a stand alone, meaning you don't even need to own a freespace 2 copy.

Anyways it will probably be a ton of fun and will give you a lot of practice with FS gameplay for sure.

Considering I've been lurking for quite awhile but just now signed up, I'm pretty sure that's enough proof that you need that it already has my life and I'm just now finally admitting defeat to the pull. 

Absolutely agree! It does have a tendency to suck you in...I feel i would be happy being a brain in a jar-as long as a neural link was available in said jar- and just live for the Freespace Universe

Well I'm not actually new, became aware of the SCP way back in 2007 I think and decided to give Freespace a chance since I'd heard a lot of good things about it. I started by playing through the FSPort and loved it, however after that I decided to take a small break before tackling FS2. And well, this small break stretched on for somewhat longer than I had planned... from 2007 to just about, well now. So 5 years... man that's insane.

So anyway, a couple of days ago I dug out the old X45 and downloaded the new builds and MediaVPs, but since I've been busy with other stuff I haven't had a chance to start playing. However today is the day! I have the rest of the week off and no other plans, no excuses!

Now I just have to spend a few hours configuring the controls so I get them just right lol. After I drop by the store for some much needed junk food and candy that is

If you haven't played SCP for five years, man are you in for a treat, it's shinier than ever!! I'd suggest you play Silent Threat-Reborn, plays between FSPort and FS2
