That's the... ugliest missile I've ever seen!
I can't go home again until I find a stone a rose a door.
Choo choo, and that is the truth.

It must be a tactical weapon.

It flies over to enemy fighters and goes :hammer: until they get so frazzled they don't know friend from foe. :p

In space! :p

Seriously though, it's extremely unorthodox but it's growing on me.

EDIT: Why are the edit and reply boxes so narrow in here?

The warhead cylinder and "wings" expand out. The extra space is needed in the warhead for the binary weapon to properly react.

My guess is that it's like the Cluster Bomb, but rather than launch like 12 mini-hornets, it'll launch like 2 Interceptors . . . or whatever the missile's called in FS2 (I forget).

Binary weapon...?  React...?  That brings to mind one thing: boom.  Big ****ing boom.

As for the appearance, it looks like you kitbashed a crouquet mallet and a Harpoon missile.

Each of the two cylinders contain some kind of reactants, which must be slammed together at high speed in order to detonate.  A micro-second prior to target impact, those 2 reactants are fired towards each other, causing a massive explosion when they touch each other.  Recall "Little Boy", which required 2 pieces of enriched Uranium to be slammed together at high speed to detonate.  Granted, the uranium was fired lengthwise, down the internal of the bomb cylinder, but you get the idea.

If two elements had to be slammed into one another, you could just half them at opposing points in a cyclinder. Like:

(Nose-Stuff1-Space-Stuff2-Fuel-Engine<

You don't need to have some complicated, spring out mechanism.

To tide over the seething masses
I bet it needs to be in that configuration to ... erm... direct the energy of the explosion.  Yeah, thats it...

I think it's a Terran weapon.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

For the record: I am neither seething, nor a mass. Oh and the missile looks like that silly ship from Battle Beyond the Stars.
Be warned: This site's admins stole 100s of hours of my work. They will do it to you.
