When I click on the link to download the SCP R1 patch, I'm diected to FilePlanet, but the file is no longer hosted there. Where else can it be downloaded from?

It's there just try again. Fileplanet has a habbit of giving 404 errors sometimes.

Hi guys. Just new at this board.
I've got the same problem as Stomp357. No matter which browser I use the Patch file is simply not available anymore on fileplanet. (I tried to download it at least 20 times). I have no Download Accelerator which could produce this kind of problem. Everytime i click on the link it leads me only to the fileplanet main site. Searching for the file on FILEPLANET.COM didn't lead me to success. Pleas HELP!

Do you have a fileplanet login? I think it redirects if your not logged in.
Make sure your using the free servers at the bottom as well.
I'm downloading the file now so it's still there and working.

It's a false error.
Try again 2-3 times and suddenly fileplanet will understand it has the file and will propose it.
Not a joke, it looks like a poorly configured timer on theit server : if the file is not found within xx seconds, then it considers it does not exist. So for low usage files, you can get this sort of error I would guess.

is the file hosted anywhere that doesn't required a paid subscription to dl it?

You don't need to pay for a Fileplanet subscription.

well I only see 2 options for signing up and both of them cost. Besides that, anytime i try to dl the file, it redirects me to the homepage. I've been trying for a week. Anybody have the patch?

A subscription does require money, but a Gamespy ID doesn't. There should be an option to get one somewhere on the page.

Yeah basically get a Gamespy ID, login, then choose a download server at the bottom of the page to get the patch.
Gamespy IDs are free and a subscription is not required.

Could I have a link to this patch? Is there a homepage for Inferno that has all the links to the downloads?

Okay, I got the patch installed and everything works except for one thing. There's no music during the missions. How do I get it to work?

I assume this is one of those things that is either really easy or really hard to fix...

Well if everything else is working (ie no Ulysees ships) I can assume its installed and working in the mod directory so try:
Creating a new pilot
Make sure there's no music tables somewhere that might be interfering with our one
Use a different SCP build. I hear some of the coders are changing the sound code and the build you have might have that code in, and it might be affecting it.
What SCP build are you using?

I'm using 3.6.5
And I just noticed that I don't have music in-mission for the main Freespace 2 campaign either. Am I missing a media file for SCP?

Try playing mission 4 and see if the music works there. If it does then there's something wrong with your warble_fs2.vp file.
If mission 4 has no music, try a more recent build and see if it still occurs.

I assume you mean mission 4 of Inferno right? I tried it and there still wasn't any music. The most recent SCP build is 3.6.7 right? Do I just download it and link to it in the launcher?

Yes. That should probably fix your music problem, as it's most likely related to the mv_music.vp. There were issues with it in the 3.6.5 releases but they've been resolved in 3.6.7.

That VP shouldn't affect our music tracks though, unless its somehow overiding our music table.

Okay, I'm using 3.6.7 now, and the music works. But, now for some reason there are no shield effects. :wtf: What in the world could be going on here?
Edit: yeah that's what I meant.

That might be it. When a gun hits the shields, the shot does its little dissipation animation, but no shield appears. Is there a solution to this, or am I waiting until the next build?

Keep looking at the cvs thread or something, it'll probably be mentioned when it's fixed. Though I don't remember seeing this bug on mantis...
