Black Hill is awesome. I just listened to several of their albums yesterday.

...I really wish they had more physical media, though. Actually having the album is part of the joy of music ownership. I realize this is an expense many bands may have a problem with, and it is unfortunately a diminishing market, but it is one of the factors that makes me want to go out and get the music (when I have the funds, or determine that I have the funds). There's a neat art-rock band out of Germany (several, really) called Sonora Ritual - dust monument is a really cool album, but digital only is a turn-off for me. Speaking of which, here it is on bandcamp:

Turning to some of my older stuff lately.  Feeling the need to "re-center."

Man, I remember howling this song at the top of my lungs with my friends back in college.  A song about the horrors of war shouldn't be that much fun to sing along to, right?

I think it's everything.  COVID.  Working at a job that makes me loath myself but not being in a position to leave.  Watching good people get shafted some someone else's bad business model can get propped up for another year.  The defiance even in the face of defeat and desperation and horror.  That's what I get out of Rooster.  And it crows that defiance so damn well!
