Debris Speed: Possible to Change?

So, I'm continuing to work on 'In The Beginning' for TBP, and I've run into a few situations when an exploding enemy warship sends large chunks of debris into friendly ships, causing heavy damage.  I was hoping there was a way to override on a per-mission, per-ship basis, the speed that debris will move away from an exploding ship.  Has such a thing been implemented (aside from table changes), and if not, how difficult would it be to implement?


There is not currently a way to do this on a per-ship basis. Is there a reason you want to avoid using table changes on the ship class? The table can not only change debris speed, but it can also override debris damage, which sounds perfect for what you're looking for.
