Hey everyone, recently I've installed the Blue Planet mod for Freespace 2. I'm using the 3.6.17 build for this mod. Lately I've been trying to get the campaign going but the game crashes with an error after I pressed the continue button. The error reads as this,

Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

I can already tell that part of the problem will be an incomplete or otherwise faulty install of the 3.6.12 mediavps.

Your enthusiasm is commendable, but the mod.ini isn't relevant here.

Please do not just guess at solutions. Again, your enthusiasm is commendable, but please do not confuse the person asking for help. Right now, all we need is the log file, then we'll see what we have to do.

i kinow if he zend the fs2-open.log i think i will combilty not installed
becouse he use fs2open1.7.0
than i think he needs compility mode

But an effective troubleshooter does not think, he knows. For example, I already know that part of the issue comes from improperly installed mediavps, because the error message refers to a file only found there. There may be other issues as well, but we can only find out about them by studying the log file. Until then, speculation isn't helping anyone.

Hey everyone, thanks for the input I've resolved the problem as it did in fact turn out to be a bad installation of mediavps3_6_12. I've re-added the files and everything worked fine!

The 3.6.17 build that you're using has some severe bugs. Use the build here instead.
