I actually like to keep the spiders in my room. Useful for keeping the flying insect thingies from annoying me. I do occasionally have to vacuum up the nets from time to time (aka, when one detaches from the ceiling and my girlfriend starts screaming...)

Withstand a weeklong invasion of flying thingies (mosquito's, flies, the like), enjoy a few months being free of the flying crap, rinse repeat.
