I. Status Update
As promised, we have here the second issue of the Fate of the Galaxy NewsGrid! This month has seen a fair amount of activity and I'm proud to be able to report on our progress. I hope that we can continue the success of this newsletter and continue to keep you posted on our developments in an easy to access format. So with that said, Enjoy!
-Brandon Drew (Brand-X)
II. Model and Texture update
Modeling and texturing this month were at nearly an all time high! We've completed the X-Wing texture, now with normal maps, and with that a set of colour schemes based on Rogue Squadron's custom paint jobs in the Bacta War novels by Michael Stackpole. In addition, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer has progressed at an incredible rate and we now have reached the point where we have separated the model into its two subclasses, Imperial I-class and Imperial II-class. Other models completed include the E-Wing, Vader's TIE Advanced x1, the new low poly Lambda shuttle, and a couple of uglies: The TYE-wing (DIE-wing to some) and the Twi'lek Deathseed. Work also continues on the A-Wing (by Turambar) and Z-95 Headhunter (by maje.)
A-wing Interceptor (Model completed by Turambar, texture work in progress)
Imperial I-class (right) and Imperial II-class (left) Star Destroyers (Model WIP by Brand-X)
TYE-wing (left) and Deathseed (right) uglies (Models by Brand-X and Turambar, Textures by Brand-X)
T-65 X-wing Starfighter (Model by Turambar, Texture by Brand-X)
Rogue Squadron Paint Schemes (clockwise from top: Inyri Forge, Tycho Celchu, Wedge Antilles, Corran Horn. Model by Turambar, Textures by Brand-X)
TIE Advanced x1 (Model and Texture by Brand-X)
E-wing Escort Starfighter (Model and Texture by Brand-X)
III. Custom Planet Backgrounds
Topgun has been working on some planet backgrounds for us. Presented here are two examples, a young, Volcanic planet and a dead moon.
IV. Testing and Tabling
Work continues on the gameplay. We've made some strides forward in our balancing, and are still combing through the movies to get as close to that feel as possible. We're still a long way from being done, however, so I'm sorry to say that we won't be putting out any releases still for some time.
Please note that the alpha build we're using is open only to the devs at this moment, and we are not looking for Alpha or Beta testers, or Tablers at this time.
V. New Wiki article and Moddb page
As some of you already know, we've now got a full wiki article on the FreeSpace wiki, and at the moment we're the featured article! In addition, we've also set up a Moddb page to open up our access to the rest of the internet outside of Hard-Light. We've recieved some positive feedback and are getting quite a few views off of this, which hopefully should give us a bit more exposure to the public.

VI. Meet the Devs
Time for our second run at the Meet the Devs segment. This month we take a look at the man who brought us all together: chief1983.
Cliff Gordon (chief1983)
Project Lead
chief1983, who goes by his slave name "Cliff Gordon" in real life, and is known as "Huggy Bear" to his friends (That was a lie,) is the project leader for Fate of the Galaxy. He was an eager lurker awaiting a release in the original incarnation of the Star Wars conversion, but when the project fell apart he took up the reins and revitalised the mod. Naming it Fate of the Galaxy, he began to assemble a team to restart the mod in December of 2006, and it was reborn as a standalone total conversion.
Chief originally was a Star Trek fan who was converted to the light side after picking up a copy of X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter in 2000. He has never looked back since to that dark time he spent as a Trekkie, and prefers not to talk about it. He works as a website programmer for a fantasy sports company, as well as providing freelance tech support.
Cliff lives in St. Louis, Missouri, where he plots his world takeover 37 hours a day.
He also thinks he is Mouse from The Matrix.
VII. Positions Open
Fate of the Galaxy is still hiring! The following positions need to be filled. If you are interested in joining the team, please do not hesitate to contact either myself (Brandx0) or chief1983 via personal message, or by a new topic on the forum. We can also both be reached on IRC, at #scp-swc on EsperNet. Previous experience and examples of completed work are an asset, but not a must. Remember, the faster these positions are filled, the faster the mod will be released!

VIII. Closing Remarks
Once again, I want to thank you for taking the time to read through this Newsletter. Next month we'll have more new content for you, and so without further ado, I bid you good night, good luck, and good riddance.
Sincerely
-The Fate of the Galaxy Devs

You took some interesting liberties with my interview :)
brandx0:
Well I didn't say that the interview would be the ONLY source I'd use. A good writer never relies on only one source.

This is my favorite line. :D

Wow, after posting this up, we got our newsletter on the front page of Moddb, and we're now the #6 most popular mod on there (Of course, this changes faster than I change my socks, and I'm a very clean guy)
Either way though, go us!
