Some questions and a little review
Well as BP is my favourite campaign I wanted to ask some questions.

First of all:
My favourite campains are those "reunion with earth" ones. But why does there have to be always war with earth?
okay... you must fight! I would get boring if not... but isnt there some other way?

The idea with BP was amazing! Ive seen the earth and was blown away "what happened? they were alone! why shivans?"
At the last missions then, I realised that it played in another dimension and found the idea ... well.... it was just fresh!
No war with earth, you got another way to get your war!

Then back in our dimension we -the proud GTVA (like mentoined by Alpha1)- had to realize that we were just a strike force. And the only one who knows that was my own dad, the admiral.

(That was btw a cool story trick, remered me on battlestar galactica. Admiral Adama+ Captain Adama)

So I ask myself why??
Why do the GTVA wants to attack the GTA or Earth Union without asking?
Why does nobody knows that the plan is to attack them?

And how can a single system without beam weapons face a war against a big imperium of systems?

My english isnt the best^^ feel free to correct me ;)
or.. to ask questions

Re: Some questions and a little review
Indeed. There is indeed a justification for this war. And, let's be honest, a story that didn't involve combat is kinda hard to tell in FS.

Re: Some questions and a little review
Check the Blue Planet website, 'Media', 'Prose'.

Basically the GTVA is concerned that the UEF ideology is dangerous.

The UEF is militarily outclassed by the GTVA, but economically comparable (although it's a single system, it's been developed for hundreds of years). Its warships are no match for their GTVA counterparts, but because its fighters are low-endurance, high-intensity, high-maintenance intrasystem craft, they can easily tackle larger numbers of GTVA opponents.

Re: Some questions and a little review
As the others said, you should read the proses first (apart from being very informative, they are also very well written). After that I suggest you browse around the forum a bit, since there are already several threads about the topic, the latest being the one that started out about the video of the first attack on neptune.

Re: Some questions and a little review
okay, interesting.

But I still think that a single system cant survive against the whole GTVA.

After reading the GTVA remembered me on Germany 1939-1945... doin everything to keep propaganda. Doin everything to keep foreigners quiet ;)

Re: Some questions and a little review
Errm. The GTVA is a bit more positive than that, at least I'd like to think so. It's not so much "Keeping foreigners quiet" as it is "Keeping Humans and Vasudans alive".

Sol has been taken over by the Ubuntu party, the ideology of which is to basically say up yours to the military. This paves the way for the Shivans to completely ****ing **** up the Terrans and Vasudans.

If you get what I'm saying.

Re: Some questions and a little review
The destoying of the Earth fleets isn't what they think will keep Humanity alive.
The GTVA tries to disolve the UEF government so they can bring the people in sol back into the militaristic mindset they had during the great war, because high command beliefs that's the only way that the GTVA can stay powerfull enough to resist the shivans.
Of course the UEF military isn't going to just sit and watch their government being disolved, so the GTVA have no other choice than to destroy the Sol fleets first (at least that's what the GTVA high-ups think).

I am as well. To say that I am not amused by jokes such as that would be a severe understatement. Also? Jokes you've invented are not valid arguments in a discussion.

Sorry to go all serious about this, but seeing stories I like being dragged down into the mud together with nazi bull**** is something I take very seriously.
