Title: I cant get it started!
Post by: Arkangel on February 12, 2007, 04:43:12 am
I have selected INFA as a mod on the FS2_Open Launcher but when i start FS2_Open up i get the following error:

Error: Can't open model file <cruiser03x.pof>
File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Model\ModelRead.cpp
Line: 1902
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

Can anyone tell me what to do? I have downloaded all the files from the INFA downloads page and put them under one folder (INFA)

Looks like you have a mediavp table trying to load an alternate lilith model. If you have a mediavps mod directory active, disable it.

Now i get this issue:

Error: icons.tbl(line 6:
Error: Missing required token: [#Start]. Found [:]  instead.

File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Parse\PARSELO.CPP
Line: 659
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

and when i try to run FRED Open i get the error at the start of this topic.
????

Would it be a good idea to delete all my customs and mods and download them again?

Do you have INFA installed into a subdirectory within the main FS2 directory?
Do you have other mod VP files lying in the main FS2 directory?

I just remembered (sorry)
I downloaded Wing Commander and i havn't been able to access Fs2_Open eversince (could be a coincidence, but who am i to say)
I have the WCS files in a folder on my desktop as well as a short cut. I can access the program without any errors occuring.

Hopefully this will help in solving my predicament.
Once again, my full appreciation to all that are helping me.

Also when i try to open fred i get this error:

Error: icons.tbl(line 6:
Error: Missing required token: [#Start]. Found [:]  instead.

File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Parse\PARSELO.CPP
Line: 659
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Call stack:

Jeez, this whole thing is turning into one great error!

Its is also i widespread issue now, no matter what mods or even no mod I launch FS2_Open will not run as the <Cruiser.pof> error comes up.

IIRC that error pops up if you try are running Inferno without the SCP patch. Make sure you have that file too.

I have the patch in it too.

I think i have screwed the 3.6.9 media vps somehow, i doubt it is an Inferno issue. Thanks for the help anyway guys (Any more would always be welcomed and especially useful)

Hmmm.... do you have original Inferno mod installed?

Well the cruiser3x I believe was used as an alternate lilith like how the media vps have a blue leviathan. So there's a table somewhere that has that in it, it isn't in any INF tables

If you have the R1 patch in the INFA folder that will cause issues and might be what is causing the icons table problem. R1 should not be in the same mod directory as INFA

Also just as a note you did download the entire INFA package and not just the main alliance exe? I know some other forums made that mistake or told people they didn't need the others if they had INFR1.

Thanks for your help guys, I found a faulty Table that was causing all the mishaps. The mod is up and running fine.
Cheers.
