Anyone get it? I got it and love it, it's honestly the best in the series IMO. A return to fast combat where it's all about fighting and not running away/whittling down your opponent. If the reviews put you off, note that Epic already has a 180mb patch in the works that literally fixes 99.9% of all the issues that were listed by the community/reviewers (you can find details [a href = http://planetunreal.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=145623] here[/a]). So yea, I love it, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for an amazing multiplayer shooter :D

That being said, maybe people could post their game names if they felt like it, so we can friend each other. Mine's UnknownTarget (duh, hehe :D) - you can actually use the same name you used in the demo, although it's a different set of stats :(

I want to get it, but I don't have much time to play games right now so I'm going to hold off for a bit.

Did they fix the numerous issues with the server browser? The most common complaints I have heard about it center on that and the UI in some form or another.

Also, what's this I'm hearing about only six official CTF maps that shipped with the game? I'm more interested in the CTF than anything else and six maps seems like a very small amount, especially when you consider how many UT2004 came with.

They didn't fix it in the release, but the first patch will fix almost all of the problems people with the UI.

And don't forget they also have vCTF now too - I don't know how many maps are in each mode, but they shipped with about the same CTF maps as vCTF, and let me tell you, the second is wicked fun. I was playing last night, and there's nothing like escorting your flag carrier as three guys are chasing him, you're riding a viper, and just as he's getting into your base you leap out of your bike, sending it into the last bad guy in a terrific explosion, clearing the path for your flag carrier. :D

It's actually not bad, and while there does seem to be a shortage of maps and modes, it is fun.

Just don't believe anything they said about the Single Player Mode.  Their single player 'campaign' is nothing but a thin veneer of bull**** on a bunch of bot matches.

Yeah, the gameplay and weapon balance looked excellent from what I saw in the demo. I think people are saying there are six each in CTF and VCTF, but even 12 total is rather small. UT2004 must have had like 20 or more, and they were all high quality.

At least one of the maps is a Coret remake, which for me almost makes up for it as that was easily my favorite map in the original. If it's true to the old one, I'm going to have a field day once I get this. :D

Don't forget, UT2k4 also included UT2k3, so it was pretty much two games in one ;)

I also got UT3, and I agree with you that it is a complete package of bloody, gory, fun.

My online name is DarkRevenant, if you're curious.
