I've recently been dumping a lot of wood and cobblestone in the main house for newbies to use, so you should have enough material even for an elaborate project. Just remember to resupply the chests after youre done 

btw, i fixed the permissions now, you and everyone else in the "normals" group can use the portals and the /fly command.

(for fly, dont do it without flint)



Also, TNT placing is allowed, but detonating isnt. if you want to detonate, get an op (either me(vrga), Kyad, Micos or Zabyca)

Can you at least set it to be able to light netherrack? That's the only thing I'd set fire on anyway, as it burns indefinitely and looks cool

My only complaint about the 'Fly' command is that is seems to be more like a 'run like a maniac and fall slowly' command, can't seem to control altitude

try sneaking, and make sure you have flint



right clicking with flint in hand makes it stop or go again. pressing the sneak button (usually left shift) should get you up.

Ahhh, yup, I'd figured out the flint thing after accidentally right-clicking and running headfirst off a cliff a few times, that scared me till I floated slowly down

also, when fly is turned on, you dont need to fear fall damage.


just be careful you dont jump off before you turned it on (it resets after the server restarts, every 12 hours...)

Just out of curiosity, are you two running the .exe version of the server or the .jar one?

I was messing around with creating a server on my local network so my brother and I can practice, the .exe will do it fine with me logging into it as localhost, but the .jar one doesn't want to know, telling me I must login first, which is annoying because I can assign more memory to the .jar version. Probably a config thing, I've been more toying than trying at this stage

server.properties should be somewhere in your server folder.


also, i'm running it on a debian box, with at least 1024MB dedicated exclusively to MC


also, both servers are running craftbukkit as the "behind the server engine"

on your private server? just bump it in the plugin folder on your server, restart the server,  check the configs for the port number, check your local IP address, type <local ip address>:<port number>
