Just curious, who did the errf.ogg and icarus2.ogg tracks? (they're not in credits)
Title: Re: War in Heaven Credits
Post by: General Battuta on October 25, 2010, 12:57:44 pm
It's not clear to me whether the ERRF currently in the vps (post-patch) is from a C+C mod or by Belisarius. Icarus2 is by Darius.

What about Carbonised?
Title: Re: War in Heaven Credits

What about Carbonised?

Same goes - it's not clear to me whether the version currently in the VPs is from a C+C mod or by Belisarius. I only have the latest SVN version of bp2 handy so I'd have to download the patches and check.

This credits.tbl was posted from latest SVN so if the latest public carbonised and errf have been replaced by Belisarius' versions they wouldn't be in this table.

What's the song in My Brother, My Enemy? One of the highlights of the campaign for me was the breezy start to that mission, followed by incoming aces, you and Simms turn towards them, kick in the afterburners, and then those strings sweeping in. Awesome.

Hang on, which one? My Brother My Enemy you aren't with Simms, but are you thinking of The Intervention, where you get jumped by the four Nyxes?

I was wondering, can anyone identify the song used in this video;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5sSvlY8MNI

I did ask, as you'll notice, but I don't have R1 at present and even though I've listened to every single track (that I could possibly find) from the soundtrack listing here;

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,71700.msg1466191.html

I've had no luck identifying the music. It's so awesome... Would love to find it!

i wonder what soundtrack it is during M4 'post meridian' after the vinlus jumps in? IIRC the same soundtrack is used in the mission protecting a hijacked tev logistics ship.
thank you very much

btw the credits in the top post mentioned 'animus2 - Tribe Wars by Chris Blackwell'. from what i  found in the internet it might be 'tribal war by chris blackwell' (well searching the 'tribes war' comes with nothing) but i maybe wrong. :nervous:

The one you're describing is Rite of the Imperium by James Dooley.

Cheers for noticing the typo: it should be Tribal Wars.

glad i can help

and thx for your help :)

also what is the soundtrack played during those 'pre-command briefing' (the one that comes before the command briefing) during the first half of the campaign?

Spoiler:
where Laporte was in the 1st fleet, such briefings in the second half use a different soundtrack, at least so i believe

Yeah, the WiH version is a reproduction of Deltamone's track. I wanted to use his version but there was too many mistakes during his playthrough.

Anyway, if anyone could tell me the music for the briefing of this mission I would really appreciate the effort. Thanks.

What is the track that plays first during the Post Meridian briefing? It's the militaristic beat with chanting in the background. I've checked the track list in the credits, but I can't find them all online, so I'm not sure which it is.

Post by: Darius on May 26, 2011, 06:11:33 pm
It's the Antarean theme from Angels Fall First, if it's the one I'm thinking of.

We should probably update music credits with a brief description of where they're used as the file name isn't really apparent.

"The cool track in Forced Entry."

"The song that jumps in when Serkr team arrives."

"The bit where the Agincourt is asked to surrender but doesn't and launches fighters instead."

Much more intuitive!

Title: Re: War in Heaven Credits
Post by: -Norbert- on May 24, 2012, 10:17:31 am
I think that's situational. While I like aney2 a lot too, I don't think it would have worked as well for the ending cutscene of WiH, as the original song did.
But it certainly would fit very nicely into the fiction view I think. Maybe in WiH2?
Title: Re: War in Heaven Credits
Post by: Crybertrance on May 24, 2012, 11:30:04 am
While I agree that aney2 would not suit the ending cutscene like the original, I like it better than the original in terms of the kinda emotional theme [idk how to decribe it better] it has better than the original. However, it would even sound good as a command briefing/ briefing. Don't know why it was dropped though...

e: I would love to hear it in R2 very much though.

I don't know about the rest, but the "tsfh-" files are bits and pieces of music from two Two Steps From Hell songs (War of Angels and Kronos) used during Her Finest Hour.

With the names you provided I could look them up somewhere else. "tsfh" are the pieces of "Kronos" and "woa" are the pieces of "War of Angels", both from Two Steps from Hell, like you said.

Yeah, that's where we grabbed it from. :)

Nice.  Was it on purpose or is the Jupiter connection just a happy accident?

We wanted some creepy soundscapes and I happened upon those youtube videos one day and it was too good to pass up.

Updating the list with the tracks that are used in WiH Act 3 would probably help, too. Currently trying to find the name for GlobalWaste.ogg, among others. (Also, having trouble actually finding Angels Fall First OST).

Out of luck with the 'Anty' theme. The only source was the 'Art Depot' of the AFF guys and they turned it 'devs only' years ago.

Global Waste is from "Two Steps From Hell", You can hear it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTdMWf3dOHo

If you enjoy it, I recommend buying the album that has it. (Or the song, I can't remember if they used something like Itunes)

Anyone have any idea what track plays during One Future when Laporte is attacking the habitat? Can't seem to find it listed anywhere.

That would be Gravitation, by Two Steps From Hell.

Hi,

what's the song that is called woabattle1.ogg in the game files? I tried to find it in the credits and the forums, but I failed hard ;(

Gah, forget about it. I found it soon after writing this. Two Steps from Hell was indeed too obvious = War of Angels

Well, I come up with a problem when I try to read any of the .ogg files I extract from the audio1.vp, even mighty VLC cannot play them x-].
Might be missing header or metadata; anyhow, I'm looking for the name of the song played after each mission of tenebrae, during Noemie's Log.

Sorry for the delay. That one is Roger Lima - The Unknown

Hi, sorry to necro this thread, but does anyone know what the song from Mota.ogg is called?

To re-format my question; i've noticed that there appear to be a lack of credits, specifically music credits, for wih act 3. I was looking for a certain song in bp2-audio1.vp called mota.ogg. Can anyone tell me the actual name of this track?

I dunno. Darius? Is that an original?

I've wondered about this too, especially as it compares next to Still Reprise...from a certain composer.  If it kept the same style throughout I'd call it a lawyer-friendly replacement.

Luke Richards - Morning of the Attack, used under license.

I figured this is the right place to post this.
I wanted to know the name of a song. It plays at the end of My Brother, My Enemy and when you decided to execute Lopez at the end of Her Finest Hour.

According to Her Finest Hour's mission file:
Code: [Select]
$Formula: ( when
   ( is-destroyed-delay 2 "Carthage" )
   ( when
      ( has-arrived-delay 0 "Toutatis" )
      ( do-nothing )
      ( change-soundtrack "<No Music>" )
      ( close-sound-from-file ( true ) )
      ( play-sound-from-file
         "Still_Reprise.ogg"
         1
      )
   )
   ( when
      ( not
         ( has-arrived-delay 0 "Toutatis" )
      )
      ( change-soundtrack "<No Music>" )
      ( close-sound-from-file ( true ) )
      ( play-sound-from-file
         "Still_Reprise.ogg"
         1
      )
   )
)
+Name: music for carthage dead
+Repeat Count: 1
+Interval: 1
+Team: 0
Which is, according to the mod credits:
Still_Reprise - Still (Reprise) by Hans Zimmer, Black Hawk Down OST

However, this song does not play during My Brother, My Enemy. There's a District 9 track if you get shot, and there's bptheme3 - Emotif by Illusive Mind if you survive, I believe.

Thought I should chime in with a correction: The "K9 Empire by X-Ray Dog" is actually X-Ray Dog's "Timeline". K9 Empire is the name of the album that Timeline is in, not the track itself.

And a minor thing, but "vergil" is not "Vergil Battle", but "Vergil Battle 2". Each of the Vergil battles has a separate theme.

Oh! And I just remembered: there's a track that plays in The Plunder, when those fighters burst out from the Anemoi's fighterbay while a bunch of escape pods launch. I could never find the name of it, though, and I've long-since forgotten the name of the ogg file. It was fairly fast-paced, though, with a kind of energetic electric guitar and drums.

Any idea what its name is?
