Adding modifier keys to joystick bindings
Is there any way to do this? For example, to have Button 4 do one thing and Alt-Button 4 do another thing? It would be very useful, but I can't find a way to do it in-game. I have an Extreme 3D Pro. I could use its Profiler software to map the buttons to keyboard keys and then bind those keys with modifiers in FS2, but that's a little inconvenient. The software doesn't work perfectly, especially when it comes to auto-detecting what game I'm running and auto-selecting the appropriate profile. I've found that the only way I can get it to work reliably is to choose a profile and tell it to use that profile for everything, which can be annoying if I want to switch games. And it would just be easier to keep the joystick buttons as joystick buttons rather than having this chaotic setup where I've bound some of them to keyboard keys and left others as regular buttons.

I use Joystick Gremlin to do this. It has a good auto profiler build in and a lot of bells and whistles.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that and see if it'll work for what I'm trying to do. From a brief perusal of the description, though, I'm not sure if it works much differently from the Logitech software. It still looks like I'd have to do all the configuration through an external program instead of within Freespace itself.
