Yeah. :)

It's no secret that taylor has been working on it.

I've been working on a lot of normal maps for the MV pack, to cover at least a few ships.
Same goes for VasudanAdmiral. ;)

Of course blackhole was also working on this, although I can't show any parallax mapping shots. Bobboau also was involved.

There will be a real announcement later. I just wanted to see how oviously visible the new changes are. ;)

There will be a real announcement later. I just wanted to see how oviously visible the new changes are. ;)

To me, it WAS very obvious... At least the FS2-Shots...
Very good work! But maybe a bit TOO bumpmapped (too deep)?

Well... Now with Normal-Mapping... Maybe the ugly old Colossus will look at least a BIT better? ;)

Heh, tell me about it. That said, my normal maps thus far have all been too strong and visually rather crappy because I had no idea what I was doing. Thus far only the loki has decent normal maps, but they're still too strong. I'll get it right eventually. :)

How do you do yours btw, since yours are looking much nicer? Also, I'm not up to speed with what's happening with Blackhole's parallax mapping. It uses a heightmap, but is that heightmap supposed to be included in the DXT5_NM texture, or is it still a separate file?
