It's too bad that I can't play it until Cobra updates it for SCP. I hope someone does that soon so it can be used in SCP. I just can't enjoy retail anymore now that I've used SCP for so long.

Just an ask for, Turalyon.

Please update your first post to include the changes or fixes. In this way it would be easier for anyone to download the latest version.
IF YOU HAVE TROUBLES WITH FS2:
  • Please, please, please, READ and UNDERSTAND the sticky threads in FreeSpace & FreeSpace Open Support board.
    A lot of people are willing to help you, but, as anyone can understand, seeing the very same "issues" repeated again and again can become quite depressing. Please, spend a bit of time trying to solve the issue by yourself.
    (Lobo deserves a monument).
  • Then, if you aren't still able to solve your issue, feel free to ask for help in that same board.
    FYI, most of the troubles are caused by wrong mod installations which lead to either missing data or undesired cross-effects between them. Always follow the mod installation instructions and keep a clean FS2 installation as explained in the sticky threads. Two additional links about how the game handles game data:
  • If you think that you've discovered a bug, mantis it.
    Provide as much info as you can, and try to narrow it down. A lonely "FS2 doesn't work" is not a good report.

Well since I can't get past lvl 20 (due to the failure to load error) in the first 1/3 of the campaign I'm going to move on to the second third. :ick:

Mission: Lost
-2nd page of main breifing:  "workingmore" needs to be "working more"
-1st page of mission breifing: "nav bouj" should be "nav-bouy"
(also the names of the points on the map are in german, doesn't really matter but I thought I'd point it out)
-the nav-bouy named "startpunkt" should be "startpoint" i think?
-"boujs" should be "bouys"(time index 00:29 & 00:39)
-"70. blue lions" should be "70'th blue lions" upon finding the ship
-The Orion name was both "unknown" in german.
-2nd to last transmission of the mission by the rendendt is in german.

-1st page main breifing: need a space between the period and today. ".Today"

-Odd, when this mission opens, I just crash to desktop.  Tried it a few more times and same result.  So I guess like in the first third of the campaign..i'm stuck on the second third as well. :mad:

Oddly enough I got lucky and clicked ready real fast, after like .5
seconds(for some reason) on the mission breifing it crashed so I didn't
read any of it and just clicked ready really fast and to my surprise...it
worked and I got in mission. (mission # 35)

Mission:? didn't catch the name cause I had to click ready, and didn't get
to look at any mission breifings.
NOTE: I must admit I've never been in a level where I've been led around
by a hygeia before.

Mission 36: Wrong Front
-In the mission breifing (incomming transmission) "sekundary" =

-some of the names of the ships are in german, just thought i'd mention it
but doesn't need changing unless you want too.

Jeez, failed to load AGAIN!  Guess I'm stuck for sure now on the second
third of the game.  (This playing 1/2 of a 1/3 of a campaign is starting to
grate on me.  I hope someone that knows what they're doing is able to
look at these missions (20 and 44) and see if I'm the only one having
problems or if it's with the campaign itself.)

I might start on the last thrid of the campaign but I'd hate too since it'd ruin the storyline like the 2/3rd did with the first 1/3rd did.) :(

Beta testing so far:

I looked at the tables, and unless I'm mistaken, all of the changes are in the weapons and ships.tbl files in that root.vp file the campaign needs. I pulled them out and turned it into a mod and the missions play fine with the lastest CVS. However, it took me about 2 hours to track down all of the parse errors in the tables. Theres a lot of hanging quotation marks etc.

In the first mission, the campaign let me advance even though I let the freighters blow up. maybe a quick look at the goals would be in order for that mission.

I'll redownload the corrected missions and take a closer look at the translation text.

Also if/when cobra goes through the tables, he should have you translate the new weapons and ship descriptions.

Alright, I caved and started part 3 of 3 and now I have no idea what's going on.....andro-terrans? Nice to know I missed a good chunk of the storyline due to the mission load failures.   :sigh:

I don't really know what's causing this. I changed nothing but the stuff inside the XTSR's  :(

Try not using the SCP.  Just clean install of FS2 and move/change the files as directed.  What you're doing sounds like it'd take a lot more time and effort and eyecandy does not a good campaign make.

Try not using the SCP.  Just clean install of FS2 and move/change the files as directed.  What you're doing sounds like it'd take a lot more time and effort and eyecandy does not a good campaign make.

um, not using SCP won't make those event sexp's any better. Anyway, I'm having fun trying to figure out how to fix things.

How did you get to 22 if 20 wouldn't load? 

The only thing I can think of is to delete the .fc2 campaign file in missions folder and load them as a single level in tech room.  I don't know if this'll work but I guess I could try it as I got nothing to lose  :nod:

I'm gonna try what I stated above, and more bug posts will be inc if this works.

I hacked the campgain. went into the campaing editor, and deleted those missions. I'm not letting a couple of rotten missions ruin this fabulous campaign.

Also, I'm on the mission where you destroy the HoL base, the one with 2 arcaidias, and it loads normaly, but EVERY SINGLE TIME, a munite 20 seconds or so into the mission FS2 just crashes. whats going on?

Just FYI but if you type -allslev into the custom flags box in the launcher you can play any mission in the currently active campaign without needing to get around the campaign file in that way :)

I had this same problem.  I think I figured out what the problem is (later in the post for the bugs/fixes for mission 25, now as to a solution to that event....I don't konw that's up to anyone out there that knows what they're doing with missions.)

Ah. It's an SCP addition so if you're not using the SCP for this then yeah it's not anything you can use.
