Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
Yeah, that's what I've ended up doing at the moment actually. I play Flight Simulator X pretty regularly as well as some other console games to destress; though I justify Flight Simulator X as keeping my currency with the feel of an aircraft etc. A new computer than runs FS flawlessly is also on my list of things to buy.

Anyway.

Guys, MOAR PRETTY PICTURES. :D

The Indy and Blitzkrieg are on the move...

Time-frozen lighting sometimes looks really cool, especially on cockpits.

That shiny looking one on the right is where Laporte and her flight school batch mates used to get pissed on Saturday nights.   :pimp:

Nice. I like the skybox and new buildings models. Only ground texture don't look good.

And, something from me :). Random test screenshots from my 2nd project - Nocturnal Skies [also known as Ultima Cena].

Sorry for the low res. I have connection problems :doubt: .

Hmm, I'd love to fly through the Valles Marineris...

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
Problem is that Valles Marineris is so big that you don't get a real "canyon" feel from it (Check out Google Earth's Mars, for example).

Whoa. Mars. Why's that place so red though? I thought they had living areas terraformed.

(Just a random thing: Does FSO support gravity?)

This is actually a spaceport on one of the still-au-naturel highlands. And we do have gravity, m!m implemented it recently.

Awesome!

Now I need to go map rolling to something that doesn't require me to keep flipping num lock on and off.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
Scripting can do a lot there. It's just a matter of development.

And yes, Mars is terraformed. But only partially; What you are seeing here is (more likely) the spaceport at Ascraeus Mons. The martian spaceports are built on the old volcanoes, while the terraformed areas are in the lower basins.

Martian sky's not normally that red, but hidden behind the buildings is a setting sun. I assume sunsets work in the same way as on Earth.
