Ah, standalone, like when i played Inferno. Ok, ill start working on all that now. Tonight i should get 3.6.10

EDIT: Ok, what are the vanilla FS2 VP's? I know some but not sure on all of them. I wont delite any VP's (beyond the movie cutscene ones, which are gone now) till i know which ones are default FS2, and which ones came with the 3.6.9 build.

If we are to be precise, the files from Root_fs2 down are retail files. They are absolutely necessary. The multi files are multiplayer stuff, they won't do any harm but they are not required for the game to work. And the cutscene vp is still the cutscene vp, so don't delete it.

Ok thanks guys. Ill let you know if \when i get 3.6.10 up and running! Thanks for all the help sofar!

EDIT: Ok everything is nearly fully installed. Waiting on the Advanced VP (ill probably end up not using it or deliting it) then all seperate VP's will be done, and ill be ready. Ill let you know if it works.

EDIT2: No dont work. I tried it, got as far as briefing, hit commit, "FS2 has encoutered an error", crash. Figured out, i forgot to extract the rar\zip files. So, i do so. Try again. Get as far as briefing, same thing happens.

I selected teh Single player profile, and in the launcher, selected the Derlict mode to continue my campaign. Briefing is normal. Cant get in mission. I even moved the MV_Advanced folder OUT of my FS2 directory.

AND the Opening nebula cutscene, plays small, and on the top-left corner of my screen.

If you selected Derelict as a mod, make sure you selected the Derelict campaign from the Campaign Room.

Otherwise run debug, post fs2_open.log.

Edit:

I even moved the MV_Advanced folder OUT of my FS2 directory.

The MV Advanced was in C/.....Freespace2/mediavps/
i was trying to say, i moved it out of that, and out of the .../freespace2/ as well.

Ah, ok then. But my point still stands: if you selected Derelict as a mod from the Launcher and the Derelict campaign from the Campaign Room and are still having problems, post the log and maybe we can pinpoint the source of your problem.

Select it form the campaign room, even when it loads the proper mission briefing and everything? Will do..

I meant the fs2_open.log from your \freespace2\data\ folder, but this might do, though.

fs2_open_3_6_10r-20081210_r4989 caused an Access Violation in module atioglxx.dll
Consult this thread to see if it helps.

You can install the latest drivers available, but you should take the atioglxx.dll from the Catalyst 7.1 series for your OS and put that in your FS2 folder.  If you have XP it's the file linked in the thread, if you have Vista it may not work for you though, but you'll have to get the file from the Catalyst installer itself without installing it, by extracting the files.

Start here.  That should be the dll you need for XP, the next post links to the driver packages if you want to get it yourself straight from AMD.

It's worked for everyone else with a X1xxx series ATI card and Windows XP.  I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working for you if that's your setup too.
