[resolved] How to know if all the effects are visible?
Hello,

I recently installed SCP 3.6.9 using that auto installer. I haven't been following the progression lately, so I have no clue what sort of visual improvements are included. I haven't played Freespace 2 in a long while, and I didn't play it before installing SCP this time. So I'm not sure what it looks like in its original state. I saw some screenshots on Wikipedia that looked good, and I don't think my game looks as good.

Here are some of the Wikipedia pics:

Here are some of mine:

I just think my pics looks less shiny and stuff. Is there a way I can check if everything is in order? I don't really know much about where these files are since I used the auto-installer. I just wanted to play the game as quickly as possible :)

Hope anyone can help.

[EDIT]: I found out what was wrong, and here are some updated screenshots

Post the command line here... The one from the SCP launcher's 'Features' tab.

I've a feeling you have just used the retail launcher and game exe as you just wanted to play the game quickly. Open you Freespace2 root folder and see if you can find the FS open launcher, use that and click on the browse button at the top, find FS Open 3.6.9 in your root folder and click on that, then click on okay, now go to your mods folder, click select mod button, and select your mediavps folder, click okay, now click on the apply button at the bottom and now click on Run.

And if you have done all this already then I apologise in advance!  :P

He's definitely not using mv_models. The smooth front panel on the side of the Deimos is a dead giveaway.

No mediavps then! Have you downloaded them? If so then all you need to do is goto the mod tab, click on the "Select Mod" button and choose the mediavps folder.

*gulp*

I just installed the game, ran the auto-installer and ran the Launcher, then hit "Run" after some configuration. I haven't installed anything manually outside of the auto-installer, so I don't know what is in that, really.

My MOD area was empty before?

Thanks for the help!

Aha! I must have missed where it was explained that I should add that! Thanks. I'll get back to you with some updates after trying to run the game!

Thanks for the help.
