Title: Knossos folder structure/where to save missions
Post by: Colonol Dekker on January 29, 2019, 07:44:51 am
Hey all.

Not normally one to ask for help as I consider myself (although having never released a campaign)  a quite competent Fredder and modder,  I thought I'd Fred some BP missions but can't seem to see them in the tech room.  Any advice?

Knossos saves things in the main folder where the mod is downloaded, but FRED might save it to that folder or it might save it to the mod's app data folder (where your player files are located). Also, if you saved the mission and didn't see it perhaps you saved it under a folder that was located in a different version of the mod?

If you're modifying the BP mod, you should put the mission file in <data folder>/FS2/blueplanetcomplete-1.0.1/data/missions (IIRC; not sure about the last folder).
If you created a new mod in Knossos, the file should be in <data folder>/FS2/<your mod>-x.x.x/<package>/data/missions.

If the file is in the right folder but still doesn't show up, make sure that it's not hidden by a table (https://wiki.hard-light.net/index.php/Game_settings.tbl#.23Ignored_Mission_File_Names).

Thank you both for your swift responses.  I'll look into it based on your advisement.

Kind regards

Cheers for the help.  I can now see the missions in the tech room.  Once I've made something worthy of release I might just do so   ;)
