Cannot display full 1920x1080 resolution
Greetings,

For the life of me, I cannot get the game to display in 1920x1080 16:9 resolution. Normally, the screen is pushed over to the right, so that on the left I have a vertical black bar about 3 inches wide, and the right side of the screen is pushed off.

If I edit the shortcut to disable the display scaling, the screen centers, but is in 4:3 mode rather than wide screen. I tried using the 1920x1080 command in the Custom Flags bar to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated! I have an NVidia GTX 960m card with current drivers.

Thanks!

Yes, be aware that we are only scaling, not stretching, the interface art. In-mission, the game should use the full screen space available.

Should that not be the issue, Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Ah, in-game the resolution is good. I guess it's just the interface that is 4:3.

That I can live with.

BTW, I noticed that when looking at the engine glow from an external view of my Viper, I'm getting a strange rainbow-like sparkle glitch surrounding the engines.

Any idea what that is?

Can you take a screenshot of it? There are a few possible things that can happen there (FSO has built-in screenshotting capabilities, just press the Print Screen button, and the game will write a screenshot to the screenshots directory in the games' folder; you can then convert those from tga to png and post them here or on imgur or similar sites)

Eh, pillar boxes (black bars on both sides) are to be expected with how FSO 4:3 scaling, however, it seemed to me that you were describing a pillar box on one side, and the graphics being off the screen on the other.

Did I misunderstand?
