I just spent the last 10 hours or so playing tabletop games at a wonderful place I found in Overland Park called, rather simply, "The Tabletop".  Games included Infinity and Flames of War, after I spent the first few hours I was there painting a few 'Mechs.  Purchases included some more paints, as well as a Pz IV G and M4 Sherman for an upcoming FoW event I was invited to attend next week.

Played a day of Crusader Kings 2, as Duke of Leinster... Ended up King of Ireland and after carefull moneymaking I invaded France and now I'm Emperor of France, Italy, King of Ireland and I'm working on creating the Holy Roman Empire. Since three of my children are married into the house of makedon, we'll see what this will turn out

My cousin and I just picked up FFXIV: A Realm Reborn for PS3. It's his game, but he's going to let me have a character or two for myself (until I get a new computer). We spent hours downloading the updates and we're finally all set, but we haven't had a chance to play yet.

Anyone from HLP play FFXIV? If so, what server do you use?

I'm planning to, once I get a PC that won't self-destruct if a game made any time after '09 (and that's pushing it) even enters the house. Hopefully it will be by the first weeks of October.

I'm watching my cousin play now, first impressions are great, but my cousin is annoyed with the lack of voice acting for NPCs. Having grown up with the classic Final Fantasy games, I'm okay with that. I'm really disappointed with the lack of voice chat in game though, since it is absolutely essential for raids and guilds. PC players have Ventrilo and Skype to fall back on, but PS3 players are completely thrown under the bus. That's my only real complaint about the game so far.

Again though, I'm only watching my cousin play right now, I haven't picked it up for myself yet and we've only just started. As always with MMOs, you need to play for at least a year in order to truly judge the game.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. I had considered getting this for a while now, and especially since I tried the previous game, but Steam putting it on sale sealed the deal for me. I've really enjoyed it so far, and even though I know hardly anything about Sega's franchises, I still can sense and admire the amount of work the creators put into it.

Now it's just a case of getting good enough to win every event in the World Tour on Expert so I can unlock AGES.

I'd actually seen one of his videos before, but thanks for the link.

But it turns out unlocking all the characters was easier than I thought, since I was assuming it would require every World Tour event completed on Expert. It doesn't, which let me get them all today. Also had an awesome night of multiplayer last night as well.
