The Babel Effect was not released, nor will be.

A re-release of Twilight is pending some final tweaks to the mods.

Sorry for probing, but why not? Is it used in BWO?

I hate it when projects go down. :(

Makes me think about all the hard work that just went down the drain. :sigh:

Woo's better, karajorma or Goober5000?

Jamie Hyneman.

Sol Coalition of Planets wins by I think one or two years :)

Do the SCP use GW-era craft, like the Leviathan?

And why does the Golgotha only have 200k hitpoints? Guess I'm too used to having supercaps with hitpoints over 400k...
The SCP use upgraded Great War era craft yes.  You'll even see some old Apollos bolstering the ranks along with new ships most of which we haven't shown off.  I am willing to point out that we have some great hack jobs to ships like the Leviathan with added weapons that have been retrofitted onto them.

The Golgotha was meant to be the realistic super capital ship that every other campaign doesn't have.  Inferno has ever larger sizes of super capital ships.  Machina Terra just goes straight to the extreme with the 20km long Apocalypse which is a towering inferno of weaponry goodness meanwhile the Golgotha is something that Kellan, Dark, and I originally envisioned as a sort of more "realistic" or "cannonical" response to ships like the Sathanas or even the Ravana.  A Golgotha can't realistically be expected to face the Sathanas head on so the Golgotha is meant to come at it from a metaphorical 90 degrees by being able to attack with both range and power that is unprecedented for a ship of its size.  Its also not meant to be a single one-of ship like the Colossus.

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
If the Golgotha is a specialized tool, why does it need: 6 beams, 4 AAAfs, 18 Blobs, 8 Flak guns?
Its specialized and it compromises on things that other destroyers have like having large squadrons of ships (the Golgothas complement is much smaller) but it was designed to be a winner.  So it can engage forward targets with its main beam weapon or switch over to broadside weaponry and it can fully defend itself from fighter attack essentially as well as any other destroyer.  Because of the firing mechanism for the main beam cannon the Golgotha is still somewhat vulnerable in certain areas so it has its own fighter and bomber defense but its ideally meant to be a team player by working with other fleet destroyers to provide cover.

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
This being a SOC squadron, would you say that the battles will be more large scale (like Slaying Ravana, not the really massive BoE ones, where an itchy trigger finger is critical) or smaller, more tactically oriented ones (for example, missions where it is more important to properly prioritize targets, be in the right place to defend the right ship, and make a proper "approach" to a target)?

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

We like both...some of the missions are downright epic.  Some are pretty mundane...usually with a twist.

Even with the larger engagements situational awareness and prioritizing targets are crucial.

Will the GTVA be completely destroyed if you change sides?

No, the war would probably end with an armistice. Annihilating the whole GTVA means plenties of scout missions... "find that destroyer" or stuff like that...

Re: Things you want to know about BWO but were afraid to ask
Let's just say that armistice isn't necessarily involved in either of the possible endings ;)

Then you must have found and valid alternate ending because eliminating the GTVA is...well...a bit weird.

Are we going to see about 20 stars go Supernova?
