Chapter 4 has finally come about, ready for all to enjoy! It was originally released over a month ago, but due to certain problems I was unable to announce it here.
Some of you may be wondering what took so long? Well, the obvious reason is that Chapter 4 is twenty-one missions long and introduces some new factors into the Exiles interesting existence. At some points, the story line will bring up more questions than it answers, but this is just one chapter in an extended campaign.

I have a few Bugs with Cpt 2 and 3.. i can't go to the Weapon Selection Screen without a CTD. Always when i select the New Weapons i have this CTD.. and in the Last Missions (last three Missions) from Cpt 3, i have always a CTD, because i have a Message that Laser07.pof is missing :?
But i will play Cpt 4 soon ;)

The first three chapters are in the process of being redone. Chapter 1 is pretty much bug free so it will be put back on soon. Chapters 2 & 3 need some work. As for the link, some times geocities gets kind of finky, just keep trying, you'll get it eventually.

I actually managed to correct the bugs I was having with 3&4 by ripping the necessary POF files from Chapter 2. 4 did something odd with textures, but exiting the game and coming back cured that.
Overall: Two thumbs up. Now excuse me while I go watch the beautiful explosions of the escorting ships for the the Shiamak again...*unloads his Trinity torpedos*

The reason why you might be having problems with chapter 3 is because chapter 2 is required to play chapter 3. Just have both of the VP files in your FS2 directory and you should be fine.
Well, one person likes it, anyone else have some constructive comments? Anything will help.

I'm trying to play chapter 4 and when I go to start the campaign it I get a error saying a model is missing or something like that, it has to do with a missle model.

MissileXXL, as well as the Vindhyachal (or whatever). I got both those errors and then ended up copying the entire Ch2 models directory into FS2\models, so I don't know if those are the only two.
Some briefings lacked music also.
I just finished all 4 chapters and they were great fun for the most part, but other parts were lacking. I'd post a review except I have exams in a few days. :nervous: I can give you a full review over ICQ after the semester's over, if you like.

Hmm, I had the same problem. So you needed the chapter 2 files to solve it? Is there some place to download them?
Edit : yeah, read -> understand -> post. :sigh:

I'll be putting Chapter 1 back on the site this weekend. Since I'll be on Christmas break soon, expect Chapters 2&3 to follow shortly after.

How is progress on chapter 5?

Missions after rescue 911, the mission has no debriefing and when I try to load up the next mission, it crashes.
I'll try to get the reason why, but any thoughts?

The mission in question is suppose to be a red alert mission. Technically you don't really need a briefing for those. As for the crashing, just try again and it should work.
And for all of those who are interested, chapter 1 has been put back on the site.

I'm not seeing ch. 1 on the site, downloads still only highlight Ch4 and its music.
Still getting the crash, BTW.

Try starting the campaign over again. Other than that the only thing I could possible image is that it might be system limitations.

I had something like that once with a different campaign. Have you tried making a new pilot file?

Scratch that, I just ran into the same problem, and it was most certainly not out of memory. There appearently is a bug.

:confused: That's all I can say. The missions in question are red alerts so that might have something to do with it.

You had a long string of red alerts earlier in the campaign and it only randomly CTD'd once or twice. :p

Well, I just looked at the mission in question, and the only thing out of the ordinary is that I introduced a new Vasudan fighter, the Aoh from OTT.

Well something is causing the CTD.......
This pretty much seems to cripple the campaign for me since I cannot seem to get by it. That is most unfortunate because I was really liking it. :(

Strangely, I had the same problem. then suddenly it just all owrked and I finished the campaign...go figure...

Maybe I should try it again tomorrow. Maybe it just wants a break. :D
