This is sexy.
-
The head is somewhat lacking though. And the smoothing is bad.
-
*insert obvious "It's WIP noob" comment here*
-
I like the one to port more than the one to starboard. It looks more detailed.
-
That's the point. It's the exact same ship (Is it still designated Warlock?).
-
Yup.
I didn't think it needed to be said, but these are development pics of Moonred HTLing the GTCa Warlock.

The textures are also rather uninspired, to be honest.

Sorry, I was trying to skip right to the humorous misunderstanding.
Kidding aside, it's great looking work.
-
That is looking darn good. Moonred is a skilled modeller it's gotta be said. Nice to see one of the older ship models getting a facelift too.

Ooh. Fancy new science ship?
-
Yup!
-
nice ship!
goober? do you have any pics of the viraj vasudan installation?
-
Yes.
-
Could you show us this installation? I remember it from artwork, but I've never seen Viraj modelled. Concept was awesome, so unique. I'm very interested, how this model look like.
-
That new science ship looks awesome! You probably have a name for it already, no doubt. . . . . .
-
If not, i would name it "von Braun".

I think this is one of Scroll's signature models, so we'll probably keep it under wraps for now.

The working name is GTSC Faustus Mk II. It will probably be changed. :)
-
copernicus?
-
Or Sirius?
-
:bump: for progress...

That looks awesome. Can we have a p3d?
-
In needs moar gunz!
-
Woah... Moon is still active?
-
Cool! New Warlock.
-
That looks awesome. Can we have a p3d?
Moonred sent me .3ds and .obj files, so that's all I have. And I'll only hand them out if I get a promise of uv mapping in return. :D
Woah... Moon is still active?
Depends on your threshold for "active". I had to harass him intermittently for two years to get this much. :P
-
Err... Goob, I think they mean an upload to p3d (http://p3d.in). Obj will do (in fact they insist on it) and AFAIK, all you can do with the model once it's uploaded is look at it on the website.
-
OIC. Well, I don't have an account there, and I don't really want to sign up for one. But if someone does have an account, I can send them the model to upload.
-
I do, just PM it to me
-
Oh well, Im back ^^
-
Welcome back! Why don't you post in the modding forum to ask for some modeling tips? :) (Especially for optimizing models. :nervous:)
-
Hades was kind enough to upload the model to p3d. Here you go. (http://p3d.in/RiBnb).
-
:bump:
It's been a while since the last update. Time to change that :).
Moonred's fancy science ship is mapped, ao baked and awaiting for textures!
-
Cool looking Faustus
-
This does look terrific. I love the detailed greebling on the side panels! However it needs a docking bay for escape pods/probe deployment... unless that's going to be in the front recess?
-
The front recess sounds like a good spot, same as the current Faustus. Note that the Faustus doesn't have a modeled fighterbay or even a fighterbay subsystem; just having a bay path is enough for it to work.
-
Props to anyone who was involved in getting this model this far. The original was so incredibly badly modelled it almost broke me when I tried to work on it. Having looked at it in p3d, it looks like it's basically been rebuilt into something approaching a clean, usable mesh - I'm suitably impressed.

Thanks. I had to remake a lot of sections due to terryfic geometry, doubled faces and numerous other stuff. Yeah, it's was a pain but it's worth it :). Hades probably did a lot of work before, and I don't exactly know how bad this model was before he did his part. Anyway after a really big amount of work, it's ready for texturing.
-
Is the ventral surface of the forward section intended to be so ... barren?
-
A whole ship cannot be covered by some specific science equipment. Some places are just covered with armor plates and ventral front part it one of this places.
-
I don't suppose you'd be open to installing a multipart turret there for experimental weapons testing?
-
Depends on Goober :P
-
I think it looks fine as-is, especially since the hangar will go in the front recess.
But Galemp brings up a good point about turrets - there aren't any! Betrayal, you mentioned that you handed it off to be textured. Can turrets be added after texturing, or do you need to add them now?
-
They can be added after.

I guess this belong here :P. PBR power!
As for previous posts, it has 11 turrets. I had to strip them down for texturing process. Also it has a small hangarbay, on the bottom of front section. I added it later, so it's not present on p3d model.
